A few developments...
My 2 year search for good Thai food in my area has finally spawned a winner. Zabb City is about as real deal as real deal Thai gets in Manhattan. Not Sripraphai perfect, but I can get a yummy Esan Beef Salad and some Labb that is legit spicy and super tasty. Highly recommended if you're regularly disappointed by NYC Thai outside of Woodside.
My 3 year search to complete the Sopranos story is now completely in David Chase's hands and I am enjoying the ride so far. I do not know how it's going to end, but I'm dreading it. The gradual buildup of everything surrounding Tony seemed like it started out slow...much like every season of the Sopranos...but it has gradually built up to the point where the whole bubble could collapse at any minute and you end up just sitting there the whole time waiting for the whole thing to implode. I'm nervous just thinking about it now.
One thing...and don't read this if you haven't watched last night PLEASE...but the knowledge that the show is ending took some of the edge off of Christopher dying. They did a great job showcasing his character development the episode before, making him into the grown up, graying, recovering family man. And that helped. But if you know that everyone is gonna disappear forever in a few episodes anyway, the death of one person a few hours before doesn't have the same impact that it would have 2 seasons ago. We won't have to live in a world without Chris for very long, because the whole world is over pretty soon. That make any sense?
Anyway, I've been enjoying this exchange a lot this season. Worth going back to entry 1 and reading all the way through. These guys are really good at watching this show.
Also in TV...if you haven't heard, Friday Night Lights has been renewed, which is nice I guess, except it'll be on FRIDAY NIGHTS AT 10PM. For fucks sake...not that anyone watches TV at that time on a Friday in the first place, but to put it opposite ACTUAL HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAMES?!? So if, god forbid, some serious High School football fanatics were to get into the show, investing in characters and situations they can relate to and all that, they're shit out of luck because they're out actually doing what the show portrays at 10:00 on a Friday. I thought it was superdumb when they aired the show opposite Monday Night Football for a week, but this?!? Gahyeesh.
Musicwise, I have been listening to a bunch of fun stuff since Coachella, and will post about all that soon with MP3s and whatnot. Current favorites on my ipod are the Digitalism album, This gem of a band I stumbled across at Bamboozle called Manchester Orchestra, a little Black Lips sometimes, Maccabees, Hot Club de Paris, etc. I'll go into this later. Oh yeah, I also went to Bamboozle and took some pretty pictures of Muse and a few other bands that have been on flickr but never posted here. One of them is at the top of this post. I'll put them all up in a separate one soon too.
Oh, also, since I was asked no less than 2 dozen times what I thought...LCD Soundsystem was really good at Studio B on Saturday. Even the songs I don't really care for were done well and the place was going nuts. Fun times. Had issues with the club this time around...will address that on Gothamist on Friday. But if you weren't there, they must had sold 200 more tickets than they usually do there for a sold out show. I think I collapsed a lung just trying to walk past the bar.

At first I only saw the picturemulberry bags on the right, the nutmeg version of this totemulberry handbags sale. To me it was greatMulberry designer handbags. A simple leather tote with simplicity as its focus. I liked the shapemulberry alexa, I liked that it was slouchy, I loved the rich nutmeg color. But then I saw the picturemulberry factory shop on the right, the black version of this bag. And the bag lost its luster for me.
