I couldn't be more excited for the next Movable Hype. Honestly. There have been some solid lineups before, and there have been some legendary, band-breaking shows (kidding), but for me, this is as good as it gets.
First is The Stars of Track and Field. One of my favorite bands at SXSW, I made a point to see them twice since it didn't look like they were coming to NYC anytime soon. Who knew all ya had to do is ask. Have a listen if you're not convinced. You'll love em. They're that good.

Next is Land of Talk, who I've listened to a little, but am really intrigued by the love Brooklyn Vegan has given them recently. He "Fell in love with the Montreal band" after seeing them a few weeks ago at Fat Baby and called them "Too good to be true." The dude talks about a lot of bands, but rarely shows this much love. When he does, they usually go onto bigger and better things. (Think Arcade Fire, CYHSY, Arctic Monkeys, etc) They're playing Mercury Lounge tonight with the Mystery Jets, and I'm hoping to catch them there (tho it's a toughie between that and the OMR March Madness Fest. may have to buy a funpass and go back and forth under the river all night. I swear this weekend is gonna have more show-hopping for me than Southby did)
Finally, Cloud Cult will headline. My favorite band at CMJ last year. My favorite album last year. The kindest, friendliest musicians I've ever met. Pitchfork managed to compare their latest album to Connor Oberst, Isaac Brock, Arcade Fire, Sunny Day Real Estate, Thom Yorke, The Chemical Brothers and Neil Young all in one review. The band that inspired a fake fan club that was met with widespread ridicule by people who clearly take themselves too seriously. Or something. Anyway, this is a band not to miss. Would be worth checking out even without the stellar supporting cast.
Buy tickets here. Only $8. From what I've been told, a whole bunch of tickets have already been sold for the show based on Cloud Cult playing alone. There is a very high possibility this show will sell out before gametime.
Jesus wouldn't go around forcing nfl clothing people to pay for someone else's healthcare, either. Forced charity is theft, and it is not a Christian concept. So who nhl hockey cares if a couple of talk-show hosts say something "mean" when nfl store the people they're opposed to are committing evil? dfsssfdaaadftt
