Madonna at Coachella. I'd rather see MYLO.

You know when you wake up first thing in the morning and kind of hazily sift through all the emails you got overnight and you don't really digest it all.  Well, I just went back to double check I wasn't dreaming this morning when I read that Madonna is performing in the dance tent at Coachella. Good God. Is it gonna sell out now? Are Madonna Fans gonna flock to the fest to see this? What's a Madonna fan like these days anyway? Do they get along with Tool fans? Will she mash up 'Hung up' with some Depeche Mode jam? (actually...this'll prolly happen.) Golly. I'm so confused.

On the other hand, Mylo, who actually does rule, will be doing a DJ set at Coachella. I'm assuming in the dance tent as well. Been listening to his record a lot and it's pretty amazing. I'm clearly not the biggest dance dance dance fan ever, but this record has been sold as dance music rock kids can jam to and it is. Some of the changes are so smooth it gives me goosebumps. I seriously regret taking so long to get into this thing, it's really special. He played a set at Rothko a while back with a full band that I heard was unreal. He got sick and seems to be doing the DJ thing for a while, but hopefully he'll come back around with a band someday.

Not wanting to ruin seeing Mylo for the first time for you but having seen the man quite a few times now, he really isn't that great live. If, like many, you think of the album as a chilled out one with some good beats, you may like it. Don't expect to go along and rock out for the whole time though, too many slow moments.
