One of those days, one of those posts...
The Raveonettes are playing a free show at the New Ben Sherman Store on Spring Street tonight. Danny Masterson is DJing. Whatever. I have nothing to add to this. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, one way tickets from JFK to Burbank airport are going for, like, $139.00 on Jet Blue right now...
Stereogum posts an indie boxset with 50 free and legal new MP3s. Too many good to great bands to list. This is a lot harder to compile than it looks, trust me. Very well done, Scott.
The Raconteurs show went on sale and sold out before your browser refreshed. Sorry. Been hearing reports that some 20 minutes after the show looked completely sold out, people were able to still randomly get tickets. Good luck.
Phoenix is playing a show at Bowery in May. I've only see them play a stripped down, 10am KEXP in-studio, which was pretty amazing. The slowed down 'Everything is Everything' was so great. I only hear the best things about their full live show. Looking forward to this one.
Finally, I've never kept it a secret that I really love the band Brand New. It's still emo to a certain extent, sure, but that doesn't bother me. Dude can write songs. I've played Deja Entendu for many people without telling them who it is and it's always a hit. Anyway, Gurj linked to a new demo of theirs from their upcoming album a few weeks ago. It's pretty good. Better than what I've heard from the actual Morrissey of late. When I saw Jesse do that random Alphabet Lounge set with a bunch of his friends' bands, he played a lot of stuff I didn't recognize that I thought was great. I have high hopes for this album. I also just noticed they'll be playing Webster Hall on July 27th. Cannot wait.
Funny note...the Typepad spellchecker suggests 'Raconteurs' when you type 'Raveonettes'. Also, it still doesn't recognize the word 'blogger'. Silly.

Jesus wouldn't go around forcing nfl clothing people to pay for someone else's healthcare, either. Forced charity is theft, and it is not a Christian concept. So who nhl hockey cares if a couple of talk-show hosts say something "mean" when nfl store the people they're opposed to are committing evil? dfsssfdaaadftt
