I'm 2000 words into my SXSW recap and I just got to writing about seeing Lifetime at Emos on Friday afternoon. This may not be up till tomorrow. Tonight, if I'm bored at home and don't feel like watching Squid and the Whale after Jose Gonzalez.
In the meantime, since I know there are maybe two of you (hi mom and dad) eagerly awaiting to hear about my trip, I wanna point you in the direction of Gothamist's band of the week this week, Goes Cube. They rule. Brooklyn needs more honest to goodness screaming, ya know? Sing it like you fucking mean it, Goes Cube! I never heard of them before this morning, but I've been listening to them all day and I really hope I can make it out to Brooklyn this Friday to see them play that Oh My Rockness party.
And no, I don't think I just like these guys just because of their numerical song naming.
Goes Cube - Goes Cube Song 24 (mp3)
Goes Cube - Goes Cube Song 25 (mp3)
Goes Cube - Goes Cube Song 26 (mp3) (my favorite)
Sidenote...Aleve Cold and Sinus is a wonderdrug. Took one pill this morning at around 10:00 and I still feel great. I think Advil Cold and Sinus stopped working for me. I took it too often this winter. Just a friendly heads up, since it's that season and all...
ah! goes cube are my boys! (wow, that was really weird grammatically)... check them out live -- they will blow yr head off. for reals.

Good thing they've got Neil Peart Jr. on the drums or I wouldn't have made it through a song.
Now's a good time for one of my favorite lightbulb jokes:
Q: How many drummers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: Five. One to screw it in, four to argue how Neil Peart would have done it better.
It was a lot funnier in the '80s.

Wow...went right over my head with that one, Glenn...

He's the drummer for Rush, in case you didn't Google it. He's known as a "drummer's drummer."

I haven't been up to much today. Such is life. My life's been basically dull today, but that's how it is.

Jesus wouldn't go around forcing nfl clothing people to pay for someone else's healthcare, either. Forced charity is theft, and it is not a Christian concept. So who nhl hockey cares if a couple of talk-show hosts say something "mean" when nfl store the people they're opposed to are committing evil? dfsssfdaaadftt
