A couple demos/tracks just leaked off the 15-years-in-the-making Chinese Democracy album. Be nice...if the public doesn't like em, Axl's gonna prolly bury the whole thing again for another decade.
My initial reaction? Not bad...not bad at all, all things considered. Out of the two, I like i.r.s. better.
G-n-f'in-R.....these guys were my shit back in junior high. Glad to see Axl finally tamed that big hairy vagina of his.

classic GnR and not too bad. It could have been a freakin trainwreck. Great pull.

Great job on these.. Gotta say I'm pretty happy with what I'm hearing. The best of the bunch is the song "Better," which is also floating around some of the sites. IRS is great too. The Blues is good, not great -- sounds a little too close to a retread of the Illusions-era sound. But not a stinker in the bunch, which is great.

love the vagina line.

These songs are awesome - IRS rocked my world, and I hear "Better" Is going to be the new Stairway to Heaven - got to hand it to Axl, this blew me away -- GNR.

much better then I thought it would be.Axl still has a powerful, soulful voice that cuts to the chase like a knife.

This CD is going to be the new #1 seller of all time. If it ever gets a release date. Axl if you by some mirical read this, it's time to quit teasing the hardcore guns n roses fans like myself!!! Put the motherfucker out.

Calling it GNR is laughable. They ceased being GNR when Izzy left. No Adler, no Izzy...no GNR. Let alone Slash and Duff.
This is an Axl Rose solo record.

This is reaaaaally awful... Sounds really bad
Posted by: Lvis | February 20, 2006 at 11:41 AM
Wow.
How very average. Wonderful guitar work from Buckethead, but "Blews" is an out-of-key, over-produced nightmare, and "IRS" is just ok, even if it sounds like it was made 10 years ago (which it probably was).
This should tell you something about the state of Rock N Roll right now. Fucking dismal, if these 2 forgettable tracks are making rock fans wet.
Too bad.

WOW!
bring it on,
gunners rule.
Shame the original band isn't still around (or at least slash) but oh well....this sounds hot!

does anyone really care about this project anymore?
Posted by: EasyP | February 21, 2006 at 11:43 PM
I care, I do... :) GNR!!!!

This music has no direction and leaves me feeling cheated. GNR never did that. Slash was right to leave and so was the rest of the rest of the band.

I just listened to the two leaked songs. I'm totally unimpressed.

axl needs to beg the original members to come back. gnr will never come close to app for dest

If you listen to the tracks OBJECTIVELY and not as a diehard Gn'R fan, it is obvious these are of very poor musical quality. Not only that, Axl's voice is shot; he can't hold his notes for shit! Also, djmedi4, when you said, "Shame the original band isn't still around (or at least slash)" you DO mean "shame Slash isn't in GnR" right? Coz Velvet Revolver's done pretty well you know...=)

Thanks for posting those.

that version of the blues is awful and not a studio demo. it's 2 live recordings mixed together. IRS is cool, but i think the final version will be much better. here's a link for a song called There Was A Time:

Axl? Slash? GnR? Velvet Revolver? Bah, it's all passe. Rock is pretty much dead.

Axl sux. This "music" is utter crap. Axl's voice is trash. Throw the tapes away Axl, don't release this garbage, comebacks aren't for everyone.
Posted by: fyre | February 23, 2006 at 01:46 AM
Oh my.... I hope these are just demos and Axl is gonna release these versions.... Music isn't still that bad but his voice.... I love Axl, but despite this I can't pretend I like the way he sings here. Sounds like he lost ability to sing, or someone totally untalented tryies to copy him. Or as if Axl just woke up after a booze party and all of a sudden decided to start rehersal. :( As any GN'R fan I will never lose a hope in that Axl still can write good music and we'll hear it sooner or later.

Yeah Axl doesn't sound good here, but in all of the live shows you can watch or hear he never had a great voice. The studio helped him. But who cares, his voice will probably sound fine on the final cd. I am more interested to see if he can still come up with lyrics that are amazing, perhaps the best. I also pray that the guitar on this cd can be close to a level that Slash played at. Impossible however.
