A strange New Years. It straddled a fuzzy line between an eerie, lonely calm and balls-out lunacy that led to my flickr account becoming completely unsafe for work. (Especially if I have you tagged as a friend...otherwise, it's not bad.)
I haven't been to a show in about 2 weeks now, which kinda leaves me with not so much to talk about here. Haven't seen anything since the Spin party at Rothko. (And no, I don't count Juan Maclean at Motherfucker, who I thought were dull and awful and didn't bother paying attention to.) From the looks of it, I may not step foot into a club for the rest of the week either. My next must hit show is Gibbard a week from today. (With Andrew Kenny and Matthew Caws opening, if you hadn't heard...) Till then, I've got nothing.
My big question is...what the fuck happened to that Strokes show??? They were supposed to squeeze it in over the last couple days I thought...Now they're giving Chicago and Seattle love this week, but no new york. The last e-mail said we'd hear back today (January 3rd) with more details on everything, so we'll see. I listened to the new album a lot over the weekend and my opinion hasn't changed on it, except that the songs I initially enjoyed I now like even more, and the songs I was indifferent about I'm starting to like less. I really hope to see them live before they play whatever giant venue they're planning on for the spring tour.
dull and boring? really? i had litres of redbull/vodka in me so I'm probably no the best judge, but I had a great time. Of course, they could have played nearly anything and I would have still loved it.

If I would have read this a few years ago, I'm not sure what I would have air max thought but today I agree with everything in this post.
