Sufjan Stevens @ Symphony Space (10/7): I already have a previous engagement that night, but I may have to blow it off. I'd love to see Sufjan in a theater like this. (via Manic Mess)
Okkervil River @ Knitting Factory (11/11): Oh man...I've been waiting for these guys to come play New York all summer. One of the best albums of the year, and from hearing this KEXP in-studio, sounds they're a blast live. (via Brooklyn Vegan)
Echo and the Bunnymen @ Irving Plaza (11/20): I would have thought they'd play a far bigger venue this time around. I hear they really put on a spectacle. Tickets aren't on sale yet. (via One Louder)
my sources tell me that charles bissell may be the opener on the east coast okkervil tour; keep your eyes peeled.
and yes, okkervil kick serious ass live, particularly when they dig out material from don't fall in love with everyone you see. i thought they blew earlimart off the stage this past may at the bowery. surprised to see them at the knit -- last few times they did a mercury lounge show.
