Not gonna pull any punches...there isn't one band playing tonight I'd drop everything and go see. There's no Cloud Cult of Clap Your Hands or Ghostland. Whatever. Movable Hype got away from it's purpose recently in the wake of all these great bands they've had come through. The point wasn't always to put on the best, most amazing biggest show ever, but to use the Gothamist brand to help get attention to smaller local bands. It started working the other way around. Using that brand to attract bigger bands. The whole internet's fucked, you see. Up is down, etc. But this is a step backwards in the right direction. A chance to get some solid, mostly local bands a bit of well deserved exposure.
I never listened to Project Jenny/Project Jan before, but the song that was posted on gothamist today is pretty awesome. Takka Takka is supposed to be great. I can't wait to see them. They were a big hit at the Beg Yer Pardon party a few weeks ago. Goes Cube I'm sure most have heard by now. Loud emotional three piece from Brooklyn who many have said are the best local live band around. Then there's my boys, Femme Generation. I watched them destroy Pianos a few months ago and begged Jen to get them to play the next MH. It's hard-to-describe Canadian Rock. A slightly more complex and mature version of Tokyo Police Club, if that helps.
Aside from that, fun people, cheap drinks and a chance to get your face on Bluejake the next morning. I may play music between sets. So may Jen and Laura.
It'll be just like the old days. Come hang out and say hi.
Today was a complete loss, but oh well. I don't care. So it goes. Nothing going on , but shrug. Not much on my mind these days. Such is life.

I feel like a fog, not that it matters. I've pretty much been doing nothing , but eh. Today was a loss. I haven't gotten much done for a while.
