Man, typepad really shit the bed yesterday. Down all day so no one could post, and when it came back, my recent posts had been deleted, including one that was not finished and is now unrecoverable.
Anyway...a few things.
A new episode of The Burg is up. It's a hoot. If someone could let me know when it's ok to wear my yellow Abercrombie t-shirt again, either ironically or otherwise, that'd be great.
Out Hud broke up. Bummer. That was fun while it lasted. Was glad to have gotten a chance to see them a couple times.
This video right here is the most ridiculous thing ever. And it's real! Those people in the video are all in other, massively successful bands. It's not satire. Maybe a little tongue in cheek, but more or less straight up legit. Anyone else think the pretty dude who sings with a shy smile on the chorus looks a bit like Anna Paquin? I do. It reminds me of a theme song to some trashy 80's straight-to-video teen flick sequel. Watch below:
You can download the song here, if you must. (Thanks SMS!)
Cobra Starship - Snakes_on_Planes (bring it) (mp3)
A couple Mccarren Pool notes...First, the lineup for this Sunday has been announced.
Dead Meadow, The Slip, Mobius Band and The Psychic Ills. If anything, it's worth going just to hang out and watch dodgeball. The bands are all bonus at this point. I really dig The Slip and Mobius, tho.
Also...and this is big news...Pretty Girls Make Graves will be playing the Cornerstone/Tripwire party on July 23. The rest of the lineup is yet to be set, but these guys will make it a day for sure. Their track record with those Fader rooms at CMJ and SXSW has been excellent.
Finally, if you can get out of work for a long lunch today, go see Amadou and Mariam at Metrotech. One of the clear cut highlights from Bonnaroo this year. They'll also be at Summerstage on Sunday, but this will be better.
is that teddy geiger?
