I forget where I first read it, but someone once said The Sounds really only have one song, but it's a really really good song. I, of course, initially dismissed the new album because of this. Then, months after it came out, I was out in LA for Coachella with my Swedish friend who found the album "infectious" and kept listening to it over and over again. The more I heard it, the more I liked it. Now, I'm probably listening to it once a day at some point or another.
Naturally, I was super stoked to see that they were playing this Motorola/Paper Party at Don Hills last night. They were lots of fun. So Swedish. I especially enjoyed the punny little song intros ("This song is sooo played. And we're not sorry" -> 'Living in America', "We do this every night...1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6" -> '7 Days a Week', etc.) I also enjoyed Maja Ivarsson's underwear as she stomped around in her leggy snakeprint mini-mumu. That thing was a bit over the top.

that's hilarious. i was there too and i didn't realize she didn't have pants on (cos' I'm short) until she climbed up to the drum stand... strange surprise.
