Anyone catch the Plug Awards NY Noise episode that's on right now? SO good. It perfectly captures the quaint amateurness indieness of it all. So much more charming looking back. Aziz hosts, doesn't take himself too seriously, obviously. They show some live clips of Beans and Holy Fuck, The National, Celebration and Chad Van Gaalen. Also included are the Video of Aziz as the clueless ad exec and Nick Sylvester's recital, which is, clearly, so much funnier (sadder?) in hindsight. It should be on a bunch of times through the next week. Track it down and DVR it if you don't already record the show. It's a keeper. Best of all is that the award's theme song, Ghostland Observatory's Piano Man, is played coming back from every commercial. Such a hit.
Speaking of whom...They just mentioned on KEXP that they will be doing an in-studio on May 16th when the station comes to New York. Two days after they rock out Mercury Lounge. Put some Sparks in your coffee, kiddies!
Here's the aforementioned jam. Contain yourselves...
i was at the plugs that night and would love to see this program...any idea when they may be replaying it, and on what channel? thanks!

It's on channel 25 in manhattan...no clue when it'll be on next, but check the listings. It usually runs fairly often (at least once a day) both day and night.
