My Texas Vacation

So...Starting tonight I'm on vacation for the next 10 days. This is the longest I've taken off work since I went to England and Ireland 2 summers ago. This time I'm going to South By Southwest. I've spent way too much time over the last few weeks sifting through emails for parties and shows, trying to figure out what I'll be able to catch. My main goal is not to run around and see as many bands as I can. Quite the opposite. This is my vacation. I don't want to worry about what I'm missing and what I'll see. Instead, each day I've found a few parties that look fun that I'm gonna try and settle in at with some friends. I have no badge or wristband or anything, so obviously everything I've listed can be attended without any official SXSW credentials. While the schedule below looks busy, it's really about as chill as I could make it

Below I've got what I think stands out day to day, as well as an mp3 (provided by SXSW.com) or a link to their myspace page of each band I expect to see. Some parties are invite only, others are open to the public. I'm told, however, that once you're down there it shouldn't be too tough to get into something if you put in a little effort. And while I'm not going down till Wednesday morning, my vacation starts this afternoon, goddamnit, and the parties start on Monday right here in New York...
