Dresden Dolls Stripped Down

IMG_8077 (2)

Amanda Palmer put on a stunning performance at Joes Pub Friday night. Reminded me of the way I felt when I saw Colin Meloy at the Fez last year. Lots of covers and new stuff, tho I didn't recognize any of the old stuff either, so that was neither here nor there. Great lyrics and song structure on her songs and well chosen covers that complemented the originals nicely. Scott has lots of followup material on the band and their penchant for covers. I've got more pictures from the show after the jump and a full review up on Gothamist now.

i had the same feeling when i left (about the colin meloy show at fez last year). her madonna and antony covers were simply amazing. great pictures.. man i hope someone recorded it and posts it sometime

Hi all. Thanks for the review. It was really nice. The pics are pretty good too. I have my own at the URL I gave when making this entry.

In response to the first poster, the show was taped, both audio and video, but there's an indefinite ban on trading it. The show might surface someday, but for now, there are the memories (and the photos!).
