Wu-Tang Reunited...
After masterfully navigating the back roads of the New York/Connecticut border to beat the I95 traffic, we got to Sally's Apizza around 830. No line, no fuss. Were in and out in 15 minutes. Drove around looking for a spot to park and a bar with a TV to watch some of the UNC/Duke game. Caught the end of the first half, then walked over to Toads which had a forty-five minute line outside. It was about 25 degrees outside and my buddy Will made the normally wise move of leaving his coat behind so he wouldn't have to deal with it in the club. He was miserable. Around 10:45 we finally got inside. The place IS a lot like Northsix. It's wide, not long, and a little bit bigger. Not quite 5 or 6 times...more like 2 or 3. It was more crowded than anything I had ever been to. Lots of pushing and shoving while we patiently waited for them. At 11:30, an hour after they were slated to come out, they started coming up one by one. Each member did a couple solo cuts before giving way to the next. Meth came on last, then brought everybody out on stage together for the rest of the set.
Needless to say it was a complete trip. Great time. Far and away the most pumped crowd I've ever seen, aside from maybe Nine Inch Nails at Hammerstein. It was absolutely unreal to see these guys perform in such a small club.
Pictures after the jump...
