My friend Cara burnt me a CD a few weeks ago with two bands on it that I had never heard, but she assured me I would like. And like I did. While I would listen to the CD sometimes on my computer, I never got around to loading them onto iTunes because the songs had no track information on them. Right around the same time I got the disc, I started reading all about Tapes n' Tapes. I could have sworn that one of the bands on my disc was them. I was telling people that I liked Tapes n' Tapes, that I was looking forward to their shows, might review them, all that. Turns out the band on the disc wasn't them at all. It was Cassettes Won't Listen. Not the same band. Not even close, really.
Shocked, I went to download some actual Tapes n' Tapes mp3's, and the unconvincing Wolf Parade comparisons started to make a little more sense. They're very good too, but surely you've read that already somewhere else. Now I'm actually excited for the Tn'T shows coming up next week. As I am to see Cassettes Won't Listen at Pianos on Feb 23.
Tapes n' Tapes - Ohama
Cassettes Won't Listen - Lunch for Breakfast
Wow. Hyping bands you've never even actually heard...if it were anybody else, I'd be shocked.
