Last night I saw both Stellastarr* and The Rapture. Irving's not my favorite, but my god, Crash Mansion is the WORST. No good shots from the latter, but Stellastarr* is, at the very least, always good for some pretty photos. More after the jump. My full review of both shows is up on Gothamist.

I know exactly what you mean about Crash Mansion. I did manage to get a few shots of the show 'cause I stood right by the speakers. I can't hear anything, but it was worth it!

I read the review at Gothamist. Spot on! Seriously, they closed the encore with My Coco which is the only way to do it, send the crowd home happy, make 'em wait for "the hit". I liked the new material, especially The Diver. Hottest bass player in the biz too.

I'm with you about Crash Mansion too. For a smallish guy like me, it's hard to see the stage, and the low ceiling and bad lighting make taking pictures difficult.
It's an okay place to just hang out, I guess.

This is funny. Now clubs are being rated on their ability to offer decent photos to bloggers?

hahaha Glenn...
There are plenty of problems with that place, believe me. If we were just complaining about the poor lighting and bad sightlines instead, would that really make it any better? :)

The Rapture's new songs kicked my ass! I have some pictures and clips of the new material here:
