My first reactions to The new Death Cab album are generally positive. It's a very post-postal service Gibbard. A little more upbeat and produced than the previous ones. I honestly think that if they do it right, this will be a huge hit. They should market this album to death. The kids will bite.
Jen posted what I think is the most interesting track off the CD. Fluxblog has another one. I put up a third track last week. I think that's enough for now.
Presale for the upcoming tour is on Wednesday. U:deathcab/P:tickets. It looks like Youth Group is opening part of the tour, and Stars is doing the other. The Hammerstein Show falls right in the middle, and according to Ticketmaster, both bands will support. Lucky us.
Useless Dolphins with Radars has some of the new DC4C as well. http://dolphinradio.blogspot.com/

I find myself just wanting them to rock out like they used to on we have the facts, but they never get around to it. its all so polished and fluffy these days. I feel like the older stuff has a lot more raw emotion and this new stuff packaged emotion.
