None Such Thing

Both Brooklyn Vegan and Stereogum posted Media players yesterday for two artists I had never heard before.  Laura Viers and Amadou & Miriam are nearly on opposite ends of the indie music spectrum, but both are instantly appealing and extremely good.

They will be playing on the same bill at the Hiro Ballroom for CMJ on, you guessed it, September 15th.

While we're on the subject, it's worth noting that Tom Vek, the man behind perhaps my favorite song of the summer, will be at Scenic on the 15th as well.  Dungen and Diamond Nights will be at Bowery that night too.  That's 12 bands total (so far) that I'd likely go see if they were playing on any other night.

Both...They'll be back a month after CMJ for 2 nights at Bowery.
