I've always maintained the stance, since I saw them back at Northsix, that The Kaiser Chiefs put on the best live show around these days. Their album is not my favorite, (it's good, not great) but when it comes to putting on a show, these guys cannot be beat right now. Their set tonight included the typical jumping around and mic twirling, but Ricky Wilson also came into the crowd and even brought a fan up onstage and sang and danced with her. These guys are brilliant.
The Cribs opened and played a great set too. They are rough and loud...Not what I expected from them at all, but very impressive. Lots of spitting and drinking on stage. I expect they'll take a run at the US on their own soon.
Lots of pictures of both bands up on Flickr. Now I'm REALLY leaving for Chicago. Be back Monday.
damn you put that up fast. i'm going to have to agree with you. that was my 7th time seeing them since January and before their shows i always think, "eh i don't really want to go, it won't be good" but then i end up having a ridiculously good time. Definitely one of the best live bands out there, anyone who rags on them should just see them live already.

Dead right about kaiser chiefs and their live show. Saw them in DC on Friday and they were every bit as good as promised. Oh, and I'm a friend of Gavin's who reads your blog a lot, as pretty much everytime I'm seeing a show, you see it the night before. Thanks for the entertainment.
