White Stripes in Coney?

I was talking to my father this morning on the phone about the new White Stripes album, and he asked me what type of venue they'd likely play these days when they came to town. I guessed they'd do two nights at Radio City or something, but prolly not something as big as the Garden just yet.

Well, I just took a peak at their website just now and saw that they will be playing Keyspan Park (Where the Brooklyn Cyclones play) with Brendan Benson and The Shins on September 24th. This is the first I've heard of it.

While it's nice to see them coming to town...New York gets kinda cold by the end of September...And I imagine down by the ocean that time of year is even chillier.

There are a few open surrounding dates, so hopefully they'll book an indoor show around the same time. Wait and see, I suppose. There's no ticket or presale info as of yet.

This is now announced on the pfficial Whitestripes website. This is knid of lame IMO. they play three nights in LA, Chicago and do one night in NYC area. Plus this i the Weekend of AACL so I probably won't be in town but I will try and go to Atlantic city instead.
