It's interesting. Usually these festivals stagger the sets a little more so that one can make it to see as many bands as possible. I'm not sure how I feel about this "one or the other" setup. On one hand, you're pretty much gonna miss half the bands playing. On the other hand, you kind of commit yourself to seeing a full set from each act, which may prove to be more rewarding in the end. Then there's that World Stage, which only has a couple bands I have a small interest in anyway.
Fortunately, there aren't too many conflicts up there for me. Walkmen vs. Pixies is about as tough as it gets. And while I know most people think seeing the Pixies is a no-brainer, I don't. And what's the deal with Widespread? Two sets back to back? Is that really necessary?
Anyway...IF I end up going to this thing, I'll have no complaints. I think it's an refreshing way to set it up, even tho it doesn't make total sense timewise...

After seeing widespread panic at bonnaroo w/ their 15-25 minute jams, i suppose 2 sets will let them get in a solid 5 or 6 songs.
i'm not a huge jam band fan but they do put on a great if not borderline tedious show..
