The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot

I got an e-mail yesterday from a band called Aeroplane Pageant, who sound pretty interesting themselves, but it was the final show of their upcoming three week residency that caught my eye.  Apparently, Jesse Lacey of Brand New is playing a solo set with them at the tiny Alphabet Lounge.  Since I can't find a website for Jesse, I have no clue as to if he plays in the area a lot or whatever, but this is certainly a show I'd like to check out.

I'm not exactly sure if Brand New is quite good enough so that I don't have to classify them as a guilty pleasure, but as far as mall punk/emo/whatever goes, these guys are absolutely in a league of their own.  Lasey is really a suburb songwriter, and I bet he would put on a great show.

Of course, he's playing on Friday, May 27th...The day I already have tickets to two other shows I cannot miss.  Hopefully he'll be around more.
